Cleo Rogers Memorial Library Table

Honoring the past, while looking to the future.

Schiller Projects was invited to design The Cleo Rogers Community Table as part of Exhibit Columbus 2017 in Columbus, Indiana. The Cleo Roger’s Memorial Library, built in 1963, is the head library for the county system and a lynch pin of non-profit community support and education.

Our team extensively researched the history of the library, refreshing its ethos and creating an object to commemorate and recognize this tight-knit community. The circles symbolize the diverse function of the library. The quadrants represent the four cardinal directions served in the county by the central library. Intersecting lines at the center represent the library’s central location as a disseminator of knowledge, culture, and ideas, going out to all.
